OUR STORY

Hello, we’re Hayley & Corey Smith

The greatest value we can offer you as a client, is our personalised service, industry knowledge, & that great feeling that you’re supporting a local family business!

We’re big on building personal relationships long term, so if you’d like to get to know us a little better…. below is OUR STORY!

Hayley Smith

Hayley is West Australian born in the remote town of Esperance. From the age of 5 she grew up in Perth, but at 16, she made the deliberate choice to return to her hometown.

Throughout her life, Hayley has harboured a deep passion for animals, a passion that continues to burn brightly to this day. Her one true aspiration in life was to become a veterinarian, but fate had other plans for her. Nevertheless, her enduring love and unwavering compassion for animals are now channelled into her relationship with her horses.

Hayley would have a son David & eventually find her way to the Capricorn Coast region where she tried her hand in Batteries, Hydraulics & Driving Trucks

Corey Smith

Corey’s a Queensland born & bred lad from Collinsville… a few hours west of Bowen.  He grew up on a cattle property with horses, which he quotes, ‘Our horses were pretty much just a tool just to get the cattle into the yard.’

Corey left school & jumped straight into ringing (working on cattle stations) throughout QLD in the likes of Clermont, St Lawrence & Tully. He had a stint in Western Australia’s Kimberley Region would later return to manage a cattle property at Winton.

It was in Winton that things would change, & it’s here that Corey would try his hand as a butcher / slaughter man for 5 odd years. It was time to move on & he headed to Rockhampton where he dived into a few small businesses over the years & had 2 beautiful girls!

How We Met

‘We met via common ground - we were connected through our love of horses’

Reining Horses

It was horses that would eventually bring Hayley & Corey together. They first met in 2007, got married in 2010 & would end up working together in their own small business, Capricorn Tyre & Mechanical (A business Corey had been involved in since 2003). In 2017, they would open up Everything Battery, directly across the driveway from Capricorn Tyre & Mechanical (Which they would sell in Nov 2022, to focus on Everything Battery full time).

Hayley & Corey now spend their spare time involved in the unique Horse Sport & discipline of Reining. (I’m not going to explain its complexity…. You’ll have to google it to understand!!). They own HPH Horse Stud on Yeppoon’s Capricorn Coast, they Breed Horses, & travel Australia & New Zealand competing when & where ever possible.
